VIII WORLD CONGESS OF CARDIOLOGY

TOKYO, 17th-23rd September 1978

Abstract

THE EFFECT OF ACTION OF AMIODARONE (A) TO LEFT VENTRICULAR
SYSTOLIC TIME INTERVALS

Stamenkovic Z et al.

Institute for Cardiovascular Diseases, Novi Sad, Serbia.-

The authors studied LVSTI by mechanocardiography with 118 patintes.
All the patients suffered from heart rhythm distubences after the heart muscular infarction.58 patients were treated with A., whil 6o some odher antiarrhytmic drug (beta blocing agents, aimaline, quinidine etc.). The following table shows our results:

Should we compare only values of the PEP/LVET ratio between treated groups, we chall perceive tht there exists statistically significant difference (p<0,001) in favour of A.i.e. the exceptionally better effect of the drug is noticed, since it normalizes systolic phase duration time where oxygen consomation is enlarged. It seems that A. has a negative inotropic effect what gives it priority to the other antiarrhymic drugs within these groups patients where thr heart these groups patients where the muscler has been harmed.
